  • Shock Strut Fairing Placement

I know from the plans that when the streamline material was used on the lower portion of the shock strut, Bob mentioned putting a twist to the airstream making a left and right. Are they both suppose to be positioned with the trailing edge up, down or one up and one down, ie: right tilting up into the prop blast and the left tilting down?? Any clarity would be appreciated. Thanks

I do not think it is critical Steve. Bob really means face the streamline part of the tubing into the wind as you are flying. At first the kits from the factory had the streamline part of the shock struts off about 12 degrees. MANY YEARS passed with no one even noticing. But eventually someone noticed and we corrected it. You could see the correction down at the bottom where the shock strut connects to the axle. Mark
