  • Tension & compression springs for the kits/planes

I worked with Bob a couple weeks ago to purchase springs for all the needs of the planes/kits. Door latch springs, flap handle springs, & rudder pedal springs. I have received them all except the rudder pedal springs which came from a second vendor.

Bob was a little hard to convince that this is something we should include with the kits. He seemed to think that everyone needed to learn about springs and how they work and their specs. After a little discussion, I made the point that not everyone wants to be an engineer, and especially the kit builders are happy to just have the springs without learning about spring design and their specs.

So he gave me the specs of what he wanted, and I had to learn about springs and give Bob some options. I found 2 or 3 options for all the springs and Bob chose the ones he thought best. They will go out now with all the kits. For those of you with kits still needing the springs - get in touch if you need some. Mark

I think that's great too. I didn't learn anything about springs, I just wasted money on the trial and error process.

Anything that makes it more complete with everything included makes it more user friendly.

Can us plans builders buy a spring set from you?

Likely yes. But I can not get excited about packaging and shipping $20 worth of parts. If a plans builder buys something else and wants springs also - that is more likely to happen. Mark

I have all my springs but I don't have the specs. My local hardware store is probably one of the best in existance with a huge selection of springs. If you take a few measurements, I can find part numbers. But my plane isn't flying, so I don't want to give bad info. If you have a flying plane, take a few measurements and I can get some part numbers easily.
