Fortunately, I own most of all the tools needed for my Companion project, but I don't own a swaging or cable tension measuring tool. I want the right tool for the job (no interest in cutting all my cables out like robcaldwell had to do), so I want the Nicopress swager (part 64-CGMP according to Spruce), but no idea what to buy for cable tension measuring. All of these tools are $$$$$, but this is not something to go cheap on. Any feedback on the tension meter, or where to buy? Any thoughts at all on this subject?

Some EAA chapters have tools available for loan to members. Or spend the money, use the tools and sell them here, sombody will buy them. Or keep them and be the most popular guy on the airport with lots of favors owed to you.

I helped adjust the rigging on a sail boat recently and while doing so I thought the cable tension tool would be good on a BH. IDK if they make one for 1/8†cable but it might be worth a look. Think they are like $100.
I asked the local mechanic to come check may cables. His shop rate is like $100/hr but he said he was too busy and handed me his tension gauge.Scratch Built 4-place Bearhawk. Continental IO-360, 88" C203 McCauley prop.
