  • Picture Limitation

    Eric (or other admin),

Is there a reason we are limited to 4 pictures per post? I have 17 images of Bearhawks I'd like to share with the group but I won't be making 5 separate posts to do it. This is a simple setting in the Admin Control panel.

Admin CP -> Settings -> Options -> Message Attachment Options -> Attachments Per Post

Can we get this changed to something more reasonable?

I agree - from where I am sitting, I can't see any reason for limiting this? I like seeing lots of pictures - the more we can share the better!

Mike, I couldn't find the setting in that menu, but I think I might have it fixed. Please try again and report back.

        Jared,

I am still getting the error:

for the record, these are externally hosted images.....trying to use the IMG tag

I saw this in the Vbulliten docs, this is different than what I posted earlier:
          Message Attachment Options
Path to Message Attachment Options: Settings > Options > Message Attachment Options.

Following are the vBulletin options related to message attachments. Note:
You must click Save for changes to take effect.

Limit Space Taken Up By Attachments (Total) (default: 0)
Maximum disk space (in bytes) that all attachments can occupy.

Set the option to ‘0’ for no space limit.

          Attachments Per Reply (default: 5)
Number of files that can be attached to a single reply.

Thanks Mike, i've sent you a text so that we can sort it out privately. I'll post here again when we get it fixed.

The bug seems to only apply to externally-hosted images. Mike, can you try it with uploading the images and report back if it doesn't work?

is there a way to configure the forum resizing feature? I can resize them all but I think long term it would be ideal to have the forum manage it. The easier it is to post pics, then perhaps the more pics we will see? Maybe I am just biased, I love looking at pics.....especially Bearhawk pics!

I have no idea where it is getting that 820 pixel limit from. All of the settings that I can find are much larger. It may have been a file size issue, which may be controlled by the php configuration and not by the vbulletin software, since the most restrictive of either of those limits will apply. The newest vbulletin update has reported bug fixes for image handling and email notifications, so hopefully we can get that update going soon. Meanwhile, try http://www.fotosizer.com/ for making the pictures smaller in batches. Sorry I don't have a better answer!
