  • Rib stitching - top of rudder

The top of the 4 place (B) rudder contacts the fabric, specifically the tube that forms the hinge line, above the hinges, as well as a diagonal smaller tube that reinforces the top rib to the corner of the hinge tube. I haven't been able to find a decent picture of anyone elses' completed rudder, but it seems to me that I should probably stitch that or it will abrade the fabric.

The outboard balance of the elevators have the same issue.

    Is that correct?

I’ll get some pics up today for you.

edit: I reread your post a little more carefully. I did not stitch those areas, just had anti-chafe tape on those tubes.

I simply put reinforcing tape over those braces because they aren't ribs and because pulling the fabric in would, in my opinion, distort the airfoil.

Thanks for the responses. I will just use tape.
