  • seen somewhere... machined wing strut ends UPDATED

I have seen pictures of machined aluminum end fittings for the wing struts. I know somewhere someone posted details of how these were made. Bear Tracks? Bearhawk Forum?
    I can't find this anywhere.
I would prefer not to have to re-invent the wheel if possible.

On my 4-Place plans the strut ends are detailed on page 15A.

In my plans, the strut ends are on page 15 but they are fabricated/welded from 4130 chrome moly.
In your plans are they machined out of aluminum?
Maybe you have the B model?
My plans are for the A.

I do think I could probably machine the parts more easily than I can fabricate them.
Is this a plans update I can get from Mr Barrows?

I will email you a photo of my plans page for you to compare. My plans are for the original pre-B.

Thanks to jaredyates I was able to identify that we do not have the latest version of the plans - still working from the set my father originally started with #623

R&B will provide updated plans for a modest fee so we will proceed with that right away.

My plans are #708. Before I started my build, I requested a second set of plans from Bob and use them as my build plans, keeping the original set as reference. I printed out all the recommended engineering changes, then made pencil notes on all the places where a change was, referencing the printed changes.
