  • Rear Spar

Finished my first rear spar today. Got a little primer to touch up but otherwise complete. Built from raw stock, no CAD/CAM, just a Craftsman 12" bandsaw, a drill press and hand tools. Took a lesson from Chewey and drilled out the root fittings to the Bob recommended intermediate size of .1875 before assembly to the web/capstrips. Kind of proud of it. On to the opposite hand. Shops a mess, I'll clean it up tomorrow, it's Miller time.

Good job! I'm just getting back to my build and hoping to have all the rear spar parts ready to prime by Christmas when I'll have some time off.

Looks like your Shorthair approves. I so miss the two I had.

It's good to have a shop dog, keeps the critters away. He's good company. We go out and walk together every day, helps with the joints. Get after it Phil, Bearhawk spars make a nice Christmas present.
