    Here's my finalized oxy/aced rig. I found owner tanks for $250 and had the oxygen cylinder refilled. A neighbor gave me the cart which he built in 1972. Time to start burning gas. I'm in the whole rig about $1,100, all new Smith equipment.

    here is my 2 cents---
    I suspect if you wanted to do something to help your tig welds---- a moderate pre-heat might be more effective than a post weld anneal.
    I would think a modest pre-heat would give you much less heat differential between the puddle area and the haz. maybe 250 degrees F ???
    But that is just my intuitive feeling. certainly -- if it is cold weather--- you would want to bring it up to a warm room temp. before welding.
    Maybe just a heavy duty heat gun might be OK - but it might take more power than that because of conduction ---
