I’m ordering a GRT EMS package which comes with probes. There is a choice of bayonet or ring type CHT probes. My engine is a Bob Barrows parallel valve, carbureted 0360, standard except for the addition of one SDS electronic ignition. ( therefore one set of auto plugs for the SDS and one set of aviation plugs for the bending mag) Does anyone know the appropriate type of EMS probes to order for this engine? Thanks

Thanks for the info. I’ve decided on the most basic Sport EFIS for flight instruments and the advanced remote mounted engine monitor for the engine. These should serve to keep the cost down and the panel uncluttered. I am going to panel-mount a Garmin GTR 200 radio which has an intercom. I shouldn’t need a com panel. I have a Garmin 796 Era gps which I really like. Unfortunately, it’s too tall to fit in the panel in portrait mode, so I’m going to have to turn it to landscape mode (undesirable for map plotting and viewing) or else mount it against the panel rather than in it, extending somewhat above the top of the boot cowl. (Less elegant but more useful). I haven’t decided on the transponder and ADSB but heavily leaning toward a Tailbeacon X. No panel space is required, it can be run from the EFIS screen, and no other antennae need be mounted. I can add it later on in the project, and even test fly without it if desired (in Canada). Backup flight instruments will be by the 796 and the horizon. Standby engines info will be engine sound and throttle and prop lever position.
I’d like to know your intended setupLast edited by Pbruce; 07-28-2023, 09:59 AM.

Are these cht bayonet ports? Silver bolts on top of the engine, inside the valve covers, outside the spark plugs and several inches forward of them? You do not have permission to view this gallery.
