  • Gonna finish a Patrol!

Hi all! I'm Bill. I didn't start it, but I intend to finish a Patrol project. Going to pick it up, this week and hope to be making progress, this time next week. (It's a long ride!). I live in South Louisiana. Been flying for 40 years (as a hobby) and just love grass strips. Built a Glasair taildragger (with a 300hp Continental) in the late 80's. And yes, it WAS as much fun as you'd imagine. Also flew a Kitfox amphib, for a bit. I've got about 700 hrs in my most recent plane, a Husky A-1. The Husky is a wonderful ride, but I'm anxious to get back to the Experimental world. Can't wait to fly a Patrol! (I'm coming Mark!). Also, can't wait to start building again... I'm happy with the throttle in my left hand, but there's a real sense of satisfaction in a nicely drilled hole! Sick, huh? Ha!

Congrats, Bill. I'm a couple of months (and 120 hours or so) into my QuickBuild Patrol fuselage. I can't believe how much fun I'm having. It is challenging, for sure, but Mark Goldberg and this forum are really great for getting answers to questions / problems you may have. Enjoy the ride!
