Hello everyone. New here. Never built an airplane but have flown a few. Looking forward to learning from you all. Looking for a builder in Ontario canada around the Barrie / Parrysound area who I could visit and look at what all is required in this build. Thanks

Hello Mr. Zook. You do not say whether you are interested in building from a our QB kit or scratch building from plans alone. Mark

      Hello Zook,
There is 3 active builders in the Ottawa area that i’m aware of. Two QB and a slow build. I’m at the final stage (QB) and planning to fly this summer, if everything goes well. If you happen to come in Ottawa you're welcome to see my project.
      Mike.

Yes ed I would like to stop in and see what you are doing. So all the reading I have been doing I’m a little confused on how much a patrol will cost. Some say 25 is the lowest and others say 100,000. Where do these numbers come from. I had owned a 172 on floats with another guy and can’t see where? Wing materials $4500 fuselage pre cut 7500 fabric 5000 Cato prop 3500 used Engion 12,000. Tools 4500. That’s $37,000. What am I missing ?

I would add some for avionics and subtract some for tools and fuse tubing kit. Then I would add 25% for "stuff".

Incidentals, expendables, and "stuff" can get really big. Like both my ex-wives, I don't like to include those in the cost of something.
