  • Vans IO-540 Baffle kit

I was hesitant to spend $450 for this. At one time there were patterns available for cutting baffle pieces on the Rocket forum, but that forum is defunct and I couldn't find the reference in the archives. When I opened the box I realized that this is going to save me days if not weeks. 36 pages of detailed instructions and diagrams. I believe the only modifications I will need to make to the kit is the intake area. I am using a 3" prop extension and I want a sealed tunnel from each cooling inlet to the upper plenum. I know others have used this kit, feel free to comment on how it worked out for you.

Worked out great. I enclosed each of the intake tunnels. Added alot of work and not sure if it improved the results. But I can't speak highly enough of the Vans parts and instructions.
