Fabric at flap, aileron hinges

What's consensus regarding fabric at hinge mounts on the flaps and ailerons? Wrap fabric around spar and bolt hinge mounts over fabric or bolt hinge mounts directly to spar and shape fabric around them? I see advantages/drawbacks each way, tried to search out the answer but came up dry. Leaning towards the latter option...

I used the latter.

I used the latter also. I'm not real happy with it but it works.

Yes, I think I will stay with the latter design. Feels better having it solid rather than fabric in there. The pocket covers will help protect it from wanting to separate as well.
