  • rubber "cushion" on flap support tube and flap spring questions

Is the rubber bumper just to prevent metal to metal contact between the tube and the flap push rod when flaps are retracted...or is it somehow used as a travel limit and has to be an appropriate thickness?

Also, does anyone cover the springs with a protective sleeve of sorts?

    Thanks so much!

The rubber (or any kind of cushion) is to prevent metal to metal contact. I have used silicon engine baffle material. But other materials work fine also. Mark
