Pictures of Grumpy’s Bearhawk Patrol.

Stopped by Mark’s workshop and airstrip yesterday to check out his beautiful Patrol! Thanks for the invite Mark and taking the time to answer all of my questions. Here are some pics, he gave me permission to share here. He had just gotten back from flying and was tweaking a few things. Excellent craftsmanship, this was a plans built aircraft, his third I believe he said. Lycoming O-360, he said the airplane flies great. Enjoy!

jaredyates It is indeed a beautifully built aircraft. Regarding the pics, he had the cowl off and it was in the hangar while I was visiting. If you reach out to him he would likely to be willing to take a pic outside in the sun on his grass strip.

The windows open in flight! Mark did mention he might put Cessna style vents if needed later.

This is well done. How was your Oratex experience? How do you like the window in the main cabin door?

I'm curious how your empty weight turned out and the performance you are getting. Also wondering about if we can see some photos of the front end of the interior? Things like your Throttle quadrant, window and door latches, instrument panel?

The Oratex was easy to work with, the only trouble I had was waiting for the glue to dry. Empty weight was 1148 with arm of 9.26. I see 124kts at 24 square. Have not stalled it yet trying to break in engine. Slowed down to 39 kts with no sign of a stall. Been flying final at 55kts but only have 5 landings so for. Easiest tail dragged I have ever landed.

When you have the time... consider doing a walk around video of your plane.. take your time and talk to us about every detail ....your workmanship and finish is top notch
