I've been working with Daniel at Sport Aircraft Seats to develop patterns for the Bearhawk seats. The great part of his system is that he will be able to send you a kit including everything you need to attach the seat base and cushions to your frames, no need to send the frames up to him. These are for the Companion which should be the same for 4 place and Bearhawk 5 seats. Fronts only for now.

He did my seats - very nice! I know he is working on a back seat pattern for the 4-place as well.
 
Would you be able to share any details on how the bottom cushions are secured and account for the sliding of the seat?
 
Seat pan is riveted to the frame with the snap base, the cushion and fabric are made to snap into those bases. The seat slides with no interference.

I decided to throw caution (and my wallet) to the wind and got new front seats for my 4-place. I removed the velcro I had glued to the seat pans for my NORAL cushions and am ready to install the new seats. Daniel at Sport Aircraft Seats encouraged me to use their suspension system, but that would mean having to drill off my existing seat pans. I'm not too keen on doing this, but I thought I would ask the group if the Herculite vinyl is so superior that the difference would be worth the effort. Any thoughts are appreciated!

I have an aluminum pan under my sport aircraft seat on the pilots side. Dan's stuff on the other side. I'm happy with both seats... You'll be happy either way Id guess.
 
Thank you, Paul, for another informative video! I’m just at the stage of deciding on my interior, and have been pouring over Daniel’s website. As you mentioned, the seats aren’t cheap, especially for a BH 5, but the quality is amazing.

I’m going back and forth on the 3rd back row seat. Rarely would I have it installed, but when I do, I feel for those folks sitting in the back. Maybe like you, I’ll start with something basic on the 3rd row seat, and then upgrade if needed.
 
Do not use a pan. The suspension system works as designed. This is how off-road seats work. I have used Aircraft Sport Seats on 3 planes. Would never use anything else again. Quite comfy on long X Country flights.
