  • Drawing for aileron pully bracket at fuselage?

I must be blind. Can't find it on the plans or in the BearTracks. Can someone confirm that this is a 'make as needed' piece or tell me where to look?

    Thanks,
    john

John look on drawing 24 in the lower left. It took me a while to find it too.

Luke, Thank You! Thought I looked at the gear pages, but I must have missed that one.

I see what is on sheet 24 for the aileron bracket but it doesn't show it very well and doesn't specify material thickness. Is there a layout drawing somewhere that also shows material thickness?

          Whee,
It sounds like you have old plans and need to get an updated shop set from Bob (~$40 delivered). There have been changes to this aileron pulley bracket on sheet #24. My original sheet with revision date of 9/24/00 clearly shows the thickness on each half at .062". My updated sheet, revision date 11/16/03, clearly shows .063" on each half. BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, it illustrates an engineering change showing the brackets at an angle (guessing ~80 degrees without measuring it) to the longeron vs the original set showing the angle perpendicular to the longeron. The original would have the cable putting side pressure on the pulley.

P.S. In a quick check of Eric's website page of Engineering Changes, I didn't see any listing of this change. I do recall discussions of it though, perhaps at the old Yahoo site???

            Thanks marcusofcotton,

My sheet #24 is the 11/16/03 revision but I must be blind because I can't find the 0.063" material spec.

On mine it is written right on the pieces, actually in three places including the second from lower left drawing. Perhaps it had been an oversight corrected by the time I purchased my shop drawings late in 2009 (darn, I need to start making better progress!). Great to have this sight to bounce things off each other!
