  • April 2006 Shock Strut Change (twist)

So I was going through comparing my notes on my two working sets of drawings (shop set and newer house set), and noticed the A-A cross section on sheet #25 (right side). This pertains to the April 2006 Engineering Change Notice. Is it drawn incorrectly? The twist the wrong direction? Also see sheet #23, lower left corner for reference. It seems to me that as drawn, it would now put the streamlined section at a 45 degree angle to the slipstream (front high). Maybe I just didn't get enough sleep last night...

I recall that someone had mentioned that they inadvertently had their oil fill ports on the bottom side of the strut, looks to me like this may result in that situation.

There is a left and right strut. The drawings are correct. The oil holes should be done last to avoid drilling the ports in the wrong place.p.s get some sleep!

Thanks Paul! Got some sleep and looked at some gear pics as reference and cleared up my thinking.

We all have our days, good to have friends to straighten us out.
