I think I read in Beartrax that indoor-outdoor carpet could be used? I just made mine 1" wide and used the rubber channel from Spruce.

I already have some 3/4 stainless steel strap but the rubber channel only comes in 1"

I have been using thin outdoor carpet bonded with contact cement, seems to work well and is lighter than rubber.

I used roofing butanol rubber and glued it on with epoxy, it was easy to find, somewhere like Home Depot. It's cheap, strong, flexible, and thin.
I also installed a bonding strap, to ensure electrical conductivity.

I used 3/4" * 1/8" rubberized cork tape. It is self adhesive, works great, comes in 25" rolls, you need two rolls for all 4 tanks. I ordered it on Amazon.
