  • Vertical Stabilizer

On page 19B ,The base of the vertical stab is 3/4" to the left of center line. Where does the top of the vertical stab leading edge intersect ? centerline, or roughly half (3/8") of 3/4" left of centerline. Page 24B shows the rudder on centerline, so I am assuming the top leading edge of the vertical stab is on center line.

I believe you're correct. The front/bottom is the offset part. All others are in the center.

Thanks,That does make the most sense. I remember reading somewhere that someone built a Bearhawk that Bob looked at and said the vertical stab was built wrong. I dont know if they forgot about the lower offset or they offset to top of the vertical stab also.

I don’t know what page 24B is depicting because I have original 4-place plans and the pages are different.

Eric Newton has a good description of how to build the vertical stabilizer in his manual. In short the bottom of the fin is offset 3/4” and the top of the fin is offset so that when looking from the front of the fuselage the leading edge of the fin maintains an even offset from the tail post.
