I am getting close to running the aileron cables. I am looking for some advice on how much cable I should cut for each section.

1. the cable from the bellcrank around the pulleys and down through the strut and into the fuselage to connect at the sticks.. Approximate length?
2. the rear cable that runs through the fair leads and connects in the upper fuselage.. Approximate length?

Are you wanting to know so that you can order the right amount of cable? As I recall, these cables can all be installed once you have the wings on and closed up, allowing you to make them to just the right length.

I have the cable at hand so i thought i might as well make them up in preparation and to do some testing before closeup..

I would suggest doing as Jared mentioned, just to be on the safe side.
It would be an annoying and expensive mistake to make the cables a fraction too short or long for your particular install, there isn't miles of room between having too little / much thread engagement on the turnbuckles. I made half my cables before I installed the wings, to save trying to run cable in the completed wing (hard to see clearance issues) and completed the fuselage ends when the wings were fitted.

You really want maximum flexibility on the turnbuckles, to ensure you can fine-tune the rigging as the cables 'bed in' (stretching, things moving, or whatever happens).
I had to re-tension my aileron cables after 100hrs. They lost about 30%-40% tension. At times they were banging on the insides of the wing struts when taxiing over bumps, before I tightened them up again.

I didnt make myself very clear last night apologies, what i want to do is the same as Battson, make half the cable then finish it when it all comes together. Any ideas on the length for doing it this way?

I measured it out with string first, and allowed and extra foot or two, just to be on the safe side.
If I ever made any written measurements (estimates), then they are at my hanger... so I can't post them until the weekend at the earliest, if they exist.
Hopefully someone else will chime in before then!
