I finally got around to weighing. I pumped out all usable fuel via the fuel pumps. I don't think there is a kit "baseline" weight. I did weigh almost everything I added, and a few things that reduced weight. I used Oratex which has a known weight. Minimal paint on the fuselage cowling/doors/wintips. So here goes.

      Bob IO540
      2 blade Hartzell Trailblazer
      3" prop ext
      10 quarts of oil
      unusable fuel
      no back seat
Unpainted wings. Vinyl wrapped Leading edge
      mostly fabric interior. Very light
      ELT
      small tires
      no aux tanks
"less counterweights" means I saved 5 lbs of lead because of Oratex. 1lb/elevator, 1.5/aileron less lead.

      2018 Bearhawk "B model

      Empty weight 1406 7.1" cg

Mains were 3" ahead of datum, TW was 209". Only 67 lbs on the TW

Oratex is <6 oz/yard. Painted fabric is 10-20 oz.(Bob quote)

My best guess is a B model kit, carbed/magged O-540 with Trailblazer prop, covered with Oratex, with no paint anywhere, no back seat weighs 1290 - 1300 lbs. Plus whatever you add too it.

That is my best guess, but I believe it is at least in the ballpark.

I weighed almost everything, if I didn't I rounded up to the next pound.

I always wondered what "baseline" was. Mine has very little finish, and half of that is a known weight. My paint is probably only 10lbs +/-5. Everything else, I weighed. Rounding up to the next pound covers fastener weight. Throw in a back seat (25-30) and big(ger) tires and it is 1450+.
