Rib Stitch Trim Tab?

I've covered both trim tabs and am wondering if the little brace needs to be rib stitched. It's not a rib per se and with the thinness of the brace, I wonder if it would even be harmful to attempt it. I plan to put a piece of tape over it for reinforcement in any case. Thoughts?

The tape is enough.

Mine aren't rib stitched. They have event got rock damage (minor tears) and still no worries. Seems to be very little force on them.
