Just reviving an older thread. A friend recently had enough of cylinder troubles and after being blamed by the engine shop that he overheated the engine during break in, he pulled the cylinders and took them to a local guy. This was a new 375. Nothing is being confirmed by the supplier or the engine manufacturer but he has four brand new cylinder assemblies awaiting pickup free of charge. No one is admitting to anything. Wrong rings are suspected during factory build.
This is not a R&B engine nor has anything to do with Bob
Just wanted to show that this stuff happens even by one of the big two big Lycoming style manufacturers.Last edited by Steve W; 02-28-2025, 11:49 AM.

Just to be clear here, the supplier was the obstruction. The local shop went over their heads to the manufacturer. They agreed to what ever the finding was by the local shop and stepped up with four new cylinder assemblies. It seems like one of those “non disclosure deals” where the truth isn’t being revealed. But yes, glad someone made it right for him.
