Patrol boot cowl to belly pan transition

I have been working on the boot cowl, tunnel and belly pan on the patrol. Everything is going pretty well but I am struggling on how to make the transition between the belly pan (the piece behind the tunnel) and the lower rear portion of the boot cowl between the gear legs. Should I leave it open between the two sheets and just have the tube exposed and add a fairing later, create a bend in the boot cowl or belly pan and add nut plates to join the two together, or something else? The area I am talking about is the area highlighted in the photo below.

FWIW, this is what Ken Scott did. Boot cowl wrapped around the tube and attached to the belly pan. Sorry I don't have any better pics, but you can zoom into the area and just make out the clecos. Hope this helps.

Bend the lower boot cowl around the tube and nut plate the belly pan. Or rather mark it and make the bend around a tube on the bench, sorry no pic of that. This picture shows that area from the bottom without the belly pan on but you get the idea. Second pic is with the belly attached

Guys, this is exactly where I am on my QB Patrol. Thanx for the pictures.Very much appreciated. I am taking these with me to my hanger tomorrow morning. My buddy and I spent a lot of time looking at this and trying to figure it out last week.

Here's how I do the transition. Bend one of the sheets on a brake, and attach the boot cowl sides to the bottom skin with four #6 screws and nutplates. On some of the kits, there are tabs welded to the longeron for fastening the sheets together, but I have found they are not necessary. You will need cut outs for the brake lines of course. Collin
