  • Fuel Tank Cover Nut Plate

I’m installing the nut plates for the main and aux tank covers. The first 4 from the leading edge moving aft I can’t get my drill in there to drill the holes. Any advice? The first one will be difficult to install the rivet without drilling out the factory installed rivets to create some room.

I’ve set aside the fuselage and started on the wings with the new manual Virgil just released. It’s been excellent thus far.

Can you post some pictures? I’m having trouble visualizing what you are referring to. I don’t remember having any issues with my nutplates, other than there were a LOT of them.

I can’t post any pictures because I figured it out and if I posted pictures I’d look dumb!

Not as dumb as me being stumped by how to rivet the one leg nutplate on the trailing edge. I needed to rotate it 90 degrees.
