    Hi All,

Just recently moved to Phoenix,AZ from southern california. I've been into aviation my entire life, at least from an interest standpoint. Did the whole radio control thing up to jets. Took private pilot training in the early 90's. Passed written, was close to my checkride, then a marriage and starting a business thwarted my final effort. Now, 20+yrs later, and minus the flying hating ex-wife, I'm looking into the Bearhawk LSA and just getting my Sport Pilot License. I don't have any medical issues, that I know of, but I also know that Day VFR is my main mission. If I choose to bump back to a PPL level, I know that's an option always on the table.

So after all that, I've looked at all the EAB options that met my taste (won't bore you all with the list) and found the Bearhawk series the most appealing. I'm a computer geek by trade but grew up in the midwest, stick welding farm equipment at 10yrs old... So I can get off my arse and get my hands dirty as needed.

I'm currently located near the Deer Valley Airport in the Northern Phoenix area. Any Bearhawk owners/builders near by... drop me a PM or email at eniel 'at' earthlink 'dot' net

    Cheers to all,
    Erik

Welcome! There are several Bearhawkers in your area. It's one of the more densely populated areas it seems.

P3100415.JPG Hello Bearhawkers, started to build the 4 Pl Bearhawk in 2006, since then 2 house reno's a move to the USA from Canada and a shop build, and here I am in Saginaw MN. There are 4 of us building 4 Bearhawks and now I am 8 Hr drive away. We made jigs for the gear attachments, wing attachments and anything else that was repetitive, we have 2 fuselages ready for media blast and paint, other 2 sitting on gear,1 getting doors and tail section completed, hopefully ready for paint this summer. We had most of the steel parts laid out digitally and water jet cut most of the pieces.

        Welcome Duderu and huntaero!
Saginaw...you're just ~20 miles down the road from me - I'm in Cotton, work in Duluth. Also building a four place. Will be busy with the wings for a while yet before getting started on the fuselage.

Do you have skis on? My runway is groomed. The Cloquet EAA chapter has a member hosting a flyin on Fish Lake Reservoir tomorrow, about 15 miles south of me. 11:00 to 2:00 chili feed. Won't be plowed, I don't know conditions otherwise, I've heard of some overflow issues around the countryside. Driving address is 5786 Eagle View Drive. I was hoping to fly in but waiting on some parts.
