  • Wing rotisserie attachment tip end

I've seen some pics here and there...rigging up wing rotisserie in prep for prime and paint. Looking for input on attaching rotisserie at wing tip end. Thanks all again. Gary

I cut up the wing crates and made the wing rotisserie out of them. Probably not strong enough for the fuselage, but the scrap steel was free. On the wingtip, I used the same supports the factory used to support the tips in the crates. I cut them shorter and welded 2x2 angle to them, and then a 1x2 piece of tube from the kit welded to the angles. I welded the tube to the 2x2 angles, and thru drilled the 1x2 tube and stuck a 3/4 inch piece of threaded rod thru this and welded it to both sides. The rod (heavy tube or pipe would work as well) acts as the rotating piece that goes into a 1" square tube on the rotisserie to rotate. Wing roots did the same thing, but bolted the angles to the spars.

      Here's what I did. It's fairly crude.
