  • Cowl filter tunnel 3 pieces?

Laying out the bottom cowl buildout for carb air inlet. Byilding the standard one with square filter. Upon laying it out on cardboard seems ill need to make it in three pieces? Left ,right side and bottom separately to form properly with a brake. Am i assuming correctly or is there a way to form in one piece. ? Thanks. Also, .025 or .032. Likely .032 id think

I made the body of the carb box from a single piece of .032”. I then made a front closure piece and riveted everything together. Pics attached.

          Nice.
What tire size and wheel pants are those?

How did you determine what the angle is supposed to be between the face of the inlet and the bottom of the cowl? It looks like yours is about 25 to 30 degrees? Is there a rule of thumb for that? Very nice looking work you did!!

I purchased a carb airbox from aircraft spruce
          .
It had that angle on it. I fabricated an offset and increased the filter size to center the filter in the cowling as the O360 is off center. I used the existing angle of the carb air box but now have larger filter centered.

Very nice. Did you put the curve in that lip with a shrinker?
