  • Neutral position for stick

It has been a long time since I flew with a center stick. Any idea about where the stick should sit, for and aft, with neutral elevator? I guess distance from the panel would be an easy measure. I am making up elevator cables. I know it can be adjust a bit later with the pushrod.

The plans also call for +35 -20 degree elevator travel. I am guessing that means you have to offset the elevator bell crank a bit.

    I am about average height 5 11".

How I did it: With the seat in the foreward-most position you plan to use, make sure you can reach full aft elevator travel. The stick position is easy to adjust at the pushrod that connects the stick to the bellcrank.

Hi John. The stick neutral position can be adjusted as you know. It is really a personal preference thing that you should set after sitting in your seats with the amount of foam on the bottom and back you intend to use when your seats are fully upholstered. Set it where it is comfortable for you. With the seat where you want it for your legs/feet and the rudder pedals. FYI - the full forward stick does go underneath the instrument panel. Even though you will never use it. Mark
