  • Bearhawk Walk

When I go to OSH I always walk the grounds looking for Bearhawks. I always find some, I know I miss others, and wish I had met the builders along the way. So I got to thinking......

Is their interest in doing a Bearhawk Walk on Tuesday afternoon at 2pm July 25th at Oshkosh? Jared gives his Bearhawk Presentation in the morning. We have dinner at the park in the evening. I thought a group walk around the parking and camping areas might be fun. I am willing to lead it. I expect Bearhawks to be widely scattered and so if a physically demanding walk on turf with heat, sun do not hinder you, then bring a water bottle and meet at Mark Goldberg's Bearhawk Facroty Display at 2:00.

I don't know what I will talk abou, so I guess at least do an exterior view and peek in a window to see what is special about this or that design and build. Builders and owners who fly in.... I'd like to meet you prior to this to gather content on your special aircraft.....or could you give us a short presentation, or get in touch with me so with special things we might highlight?

I'll also bring a whiteboard and maybe Mark will let me put it up in the booth. Maybe we can post "Bearhawk Sightings" with a location so others can do a self guided walk.

If there is only one interested its good enough for me. If we have 100, I need more leaders. I don't know what to expect. Reply below if you think you'll attend.

I love the idea also, and hope to be able to join. I consider it a duty to get a picture of each Bearhawk at the show for the newsletter, and I can tell you it isn't always easy! Sometimes they sneak in and sometimes they aren't around for long. I've put in those many steps and know just what you mean If anyone sees a Bearhawk anywhere on the grounds, please get a photo, in case I miss it!

I’m planning to arrive Saturday. I’ll be camping under the wing of my BH4, in HBC campground. I’ll let the group know where I’m located when I arrive. You’re welcome to stop by anytime.
                  See you all.
                  Look for a red/white taildragger…

Nice planes. Dropped by and admired. Missed the owners. I’ll try to catch up with Donna, Dennis and Michael later. I’m in row 230 in my RV-7. Six hour flight from HCR.
