Flap and Aileron drain holes

    Flap and Aileron drain holes

    While hanging the flaps and ailerons I realized I hadn't made drain holes. I'm thinking this needs to be done like on the tail feathers. Necessary or not?

    I fitted lots of seaplane drains to my wings when I covered. But for some reason I didn't put any drain holes in my control surfaces including the stabaliser. All looks fine from the outside but should I upset the great seal I have and drill some holes????? Or will it stay dry? It is the flaps...

      Thanks Paul, did you drill through the aluminum trailing edge?

    I made a hole in the side of the trailing edge, if that makes sense. The aft-most and inboard-most spot has a good place for a hole. I would think the ailerons are especially important due to the mass balancing.

    I did Rod, about one inch from the trailing edge. I think I have some better pictures saved in my archives if you need them.

      That is also what I have done.
