  • N108YZ first flight

    Hi group!

N108YZ took to the skies for the first time yesterday. Rollie flew in on Sunday and helped with getting it ready. The weather was crappy last few days. Yesterday was very windy all day through, but in the evening around sunset the winds calmed down a bit and he took it up for a very short flight around the pattern. He found a few issues with the controls and a false alarm on the engine coolant.

We worked on it this morning and he is getting ready to go up again shortly.

Thanks everyone for all the help.

Thats fantastic! I know that's not an O-540 because I bought your engine mount =). If you have more photos or a build log i would love to check it out.

That sure sounds like a LS3 engine.

Thanks everyone! A big shout out to Rollie for helping with getting the plane ready. We had a great time working together. It makes so much of a difference working with someone who has experience building and flying one. I think we made more progress in a few days than I did in an entire year since I got the airworthiness certificate. Thanks Rollie!!

It was my pleasure! I'm looking forward to the next time I can get down there.
