I am fitting ribs onto spars and it seems to me that thegrease nipple at flap spring area will protrude beneath the finished wing skin as well as the wing root. The wing root nipple should pass through the skin for greasing but the nipple at the flap spring area would preferably be beneath the access panel. I believe I should have welded the nut at 45 degees to straight down? Any input? Thanks

You can buy 45* or 90* grease zerks, if that will help. I am just building those parts now and noticed the Patrol plans don't show grease zerks on those parts. I am thinking of just drilling a small hole and using a grease needle.

Huntaero, how thick of material does that need? I thought about those and like the idea but was afraid they would stick though on the inside. The spot we were talking about is only one layer of .058 tubing. Where is a good source?

PS. I should have looked closer, looks like you got them from Aviall?Scratch building Patrol #254

There is the pic of the end of the needle point grease gun fitting in the pic, available at most auto stores. unscrew the nipple fitting on the grease gun and screw the needle fitting on. You push the end of the needle point into the grease fitting and pump the the grease in, the tool also works on the regular Zerk fitting, here is a listing for the tool.
