I went through Falcon. $420 for the project. I don't remember the hull value...maybe $80K or so. I specifically wanted it as I was taking possession of my engine and also wanted it to protect me while transporting parts to the hangar.

I went through the eaa website. There is a STARR Builders Risk program. It requires $250K in liability for the structure you’re building in doe $400 and 1% of kit value. It was more than I imagined.

Ok while we are talking insurance I have two condo hangar that I own. I am looking for insurance for the contents (less airplane). I originally had a policy with travers a few years ago but it seemed really expensive for what it covered. They wanted $600 a year for only $24k in coverage. Do any of you have suggestions?John Snapp (Started build in Denver, CO) Now KAWO -Arlington Washington Bearhawk Patrol - Plans #255 Scratch built wing and Quickbuild Fuselage as of 11/2021. It’s my building. I was told it covers someone getting injured while in it. Not sure why the two are tied together

Just got a quote from BWI for "construction in progress" coverage. Global Aerospace, 110K hull for $660/yr. 1 million of liability adds another $330 to the tab - I declined the liability, though the initial quote had it bundled in for a higher overall cost ($990/yr)

The only thing I can add it that there is usually no need to start with a higher number. Begin with a base, say the cost of a kit/materials, and then increase coverage when you have an engine, again with avionics etc. Normally it just requires an email asking for a new quote.
