Stainless Steel Firewall Pass Thru Kit Fires inside the cowling are extremely bad due to the presence of fuel, oil, and a high volume of forced airflow.
It is a quality product. Came with all the hardware.Last edited by Utah-Jay; 02-06-2023, 06:24 PM.

A great big shout out to Utah-Jay for hosting a buddy and I as we were passing through his area this morning. Jay’s dedication and workmanship are inspiring. I have no doubt he’ll be flying in the near future. I welcome any Bearhawkers passing through Southern Cal to drop in on me at KCCB. Thanks again, Jay!374659B5-BC55-4F1E-87DA-5E0FD4B5D7FA.jpg

Wiring stuff for a change. But this morning I did have a Bearhawk community visitor in rrbeck11 who was in the area. Randy is building a Model 5.
I installed my circuit breaker from the alternator to the master solenoid, and got the wiring run from the alternator to the master

One thing I really had been avoiding was drilling holes in a perfectly good exhaust system, but today was the day, I installed the EGT probes

Looking nice, your progress rate is fantastic! Below is a link to a well written piece from Rainbow Aviation you might take a look at regarding your solenoid mounting. Might consider a couple more rivets nearer the ends on your aluminum angles??? Keep up the great work gettin' er done!

Lot so stuff happening, not a lot of visual stuff.
Clocked all the AN fittings for the oil system, 6 in all due to the AirWolf remote oil filter system
Had to remake the control cable bracket to be more sturdy

Dealing with jet lag (11 hours time change) so forgot to take photos. Got a lot done today. Worked on measuring for fuel lines from gascolator to firewall and then firewall to gold cube to carburetor.
Continued my Firewall Jinga game, move the location of the master and starter solenoid nearer to the battery and moved the remote oil filer to a still accessible location. Set up the AN fittings on the remote oil reservoir and the AN fittings from the engine to better line up to get ready to measure for the hoses.
Installed the 2nd cabin heat muff and the carb heat muff on the Vetterman exhaust system.
Just for the fun of it, I installed the control cable for my oil cooler plenum.
Still waiting on the damn firewall pass throughs for the 6 control cables.

Pretty much everyday I go to the hanger with a goal in mind for that day. Today it was to install about 60 +/- 5 screws to permanently attach my metal overhead section and the front and back portions of my skylights on each side. The outer edges of the skylights will be attached at a later date when the wing fairings are completed. Next was to drill and installed the 4 EGT probes. I only had 3 hours as I was taking my wife to lunch and then had to prepare for work.
What did I get done? ONLY one side. Geez that took forever.
