Thanks everyone! We started the engine yesterday - it burst into life on the second blade which was very reassuring. A few small things to resolve but I'm heading down today to sort them out. The final check is planned for late next week.

One wing totally finished and painted. Winter weather may keep me from getting the other wing and fuselage painted for a few months. Yes a shop cleanup is very overdue.

Yes I did, I really like the look of them and believe there will be some performance improvement over the standard tips.

Final CAA inspection was completed yesterday, with a pleasing result. Will spend today putting her all back together after being pre-flighted to within an inch of it's life. They've given approval for me to use the FAA test flying program and a 50nm radius. Naturally very happy with the results after a very busy month.

Levelled the airframe and set up the wings, got it very well lined up. Drilled the holes using the bracket to align the drill and keep it straight. Used a dumpy level rather than the pipe level. Set the dihedral to 1 deg/2,9 “ which equates to 74mm up. Measured the centres of the holes on the wing attach point to the fuselage attach point for the wing struts. Next is to cut the wing struts to length. Hole centres less 3””
