  • N454BW has been weighed and is awaiting the DAR.

Sorry to those on the other social media outlets that I've posted on. I'm pretty excited about our recent benchmark reached and what lies ahead.

Yesterday my dad and I did some finish work and put the plane on the scales.

Pictures are from a bit later in the day after we had pulled some covers and one cowl door.

Unusable fuel in the tanks (1.5gal in each tank) and oil in the engine (10qts).

    CG ended up at 11.22"

I like the way you did your rear windows, wish I had put more thought into mine. Just noticed the empty weight, that is a great number!

I really really like the rear windows. The rear passengers are going to love them.

I love the spinner! I was thinking about going that way, but its hard to find examples. We are eager to hear about the first flight, and results of the test flight period. Curious how that Conti io-360 spools up for you.

Do you think you'll get a spinner for it?

Brooks, I don’t know that my engine will spool all that fast. It does have forged pistons that weigh half as much as the factory cast pistons but I’ve installed that big metal prop which undoubtedly will slow the spool.

Battson, We will install a spinner fairly soon. I kinda like the no spinner look but better aerodynamics outweigh looks. We have a spinner but need to work out a bulkhead that will work.

I like how you eliminated the airbox at the bottom of the cowl. Really cleans up the nose. I've seen other iterations of this design. What design or mod did you use to get the engine to breath?
