I am getting things done and working on some ideas....

The first video below is a story of what happened to a pilot when he got the swine flu in 2009 ....so this post is aviation related post....since i`ve been accused of posting off topic before...there is a plane in the 60 Minutes segment.. piloted by someone who was supposed to be dead....

I`m going to post a few things here....related to current events...I`m not a doctor...if you have symptoms seek professional help.....get to a hospital and see a Doctor...this is not medical advice!

hopefully things don't get as bad as they are in Italy...but if they do...and you are turned away from a hospital...denied help with no place to turn...

I`m going to post some information that you can make your own decisions about....information of last resort...

The video below is not flu related but is very interesting....

New York hospitals treating coronavirus patients with vitamin C

Seriously sick coronavirus patients in New York state’s largest hospital system are being given massive doses of vitamin C — based on promising reports that it’s helped people in hard-hit China, The Post has learned.

Dr. Andrew G. Weber, a pulmonologist and critical-care specialist affiliated with two Northwell Health facilities on Long Island, said his intensive-care patients with the coronavirus immediately receive 1,500 milligrams of intravenous vitamin C.

Identical amounts of the powerful antioxidant are then readministered three or four times a day, he said.

Each dose is more than 16 times the National Institutes of Health’s daily recommended dietary allowance of vitamin C, which is just 90 milligrams for adult men and 75 milligrams for adult women.

Yeah I'm lucky to be working full time too. Just assembled and shipped a $30000 engine that fits in a 14" cube box.

I feel like I just got out of quarantine after spending 3 months in Mesa snow birding! We did come home a week early due to the virus so should be back on the project shortly! It was fun but also good to be home and back in my shop!

Yup. Been flying 737 last 18 years. Just Getting checked out on 767. But now the brakes are on. The plane is parked. Return to service at my airline is probably...never. Apparently on my last flight, I might have been “exposed” to someone. My 14-day self-isolation ends tomorrow.

Soooo, I’ve been building every day. I’m new at this so predictably the process unfolded slowly at first (still putting tools together, actually) but the build is now moving along nicely.

I have been in regular contact with Mark Goldberg, Mike Silvernagle and Bob Barrows when I’m unsure of what to do. (like twice a day). They have all been incredibly generous with their time and experience. In particular, Mark Goldberg spends so much time answering my questions that I’m almost afraid to call; not because i fear his his response (he’s never impatient) but because I have partaken so deeply of his good will that I may never be able to reciprocate.

I’m learning a lot, having fun, spending quality time working alongside my kids on the build, and avoiding obsessing about things I have no control over. I took a leap last summer when I bought the Patrol QB kit that I couldn’t have reasonably done now. But, since I’m already airborne (metaphorically speaking) there is nowhere to go except ahead toward the far horizon. It actually does feel much better than standing still.

I’ve recently ordered a 4 place kit, engine, prop and associated parts order. My plans arrived 2 weeks ago.

I’ve been quarantined in Hong Kong (Wrist bracelet, phone tracker, phone calls etc ) since returning from New Zealand last month - so the spare time has been excellent to study the plans, get all the orders underway and of course watch Rob Caldwell’s YouTube videos (thanks Rob)! Both Mark and Bob have been extremely helpful and Battson has helped answer many of the questions I’ve had and been great to bounce ideas around with. Also spending a lot of time on this forum and all of your posts are helpful at some time or other. Photos are really great btw.

Anyway, I end quarantine tomorrow and back into the sim for landing recency Saturday. Not for too long though, we are returning to live in Christchurch NZ early July, and the kitset will hopefully arrive about that time too.

I keep asking the boss at work if we're really "essential" workers, because I'd love 2-3 months in lockdown to keep working on my plane.

I had quarantine all planned... self-isolate from my wife, roll out the swag in my workshop, eat microwave pasta for seven weeks straight, finish a bearhawk!

In the meantime, pretty much the whole of Australia is now "locked down" - doesn't mean anything to me, I just go to work as normal.
Though I will start wearing my work uniform on weekends just in case I get stopped by the cops - they're handing out $11,500 fines for loitering!!

No progress photos, but one wing is done, painted, wrapped and stored. The other wing is done, and buffed back ready for painting next week.
                    Colour is crashed-in-the-jungle yellow.

Hope everyone's holding up alright :-)

What a time to be done and waiting for the weather to warm up. Absolutely bored beyond belief. I have finished everything I can think of as of last December. I spend hours out in the shop looking at the fuselage wondering if there is something else I can do while it’s home. I have completed a lot of small things (mostly cosmetic) that wouldn’t have been done after leaving the shop. Tail is all installed and signed off. Engine run up completed. Hangar is ready but was -27C here yesterday morning. I was suppose to start work the first part of May so I wasn’t going to assemble the plane until the fall. My employer still says the fishing lodges have 80% bookings and no one has cancelled their season but this will all fall down soon. Even if things relax, do I go to work flying people and risk getting the stuff at the age of 66? All “honey do lists” are done. New brakes on the wife’s truck. Mine is all tuned up. All walls in the house are dent free with fresh paint. Closets cleaned out. Garage organized. Same for back yard garage. What a friken time to be finished a big project!!

My brother in law has my favorite technique. He does a couple of the easy ones, and drags his feet on the others - because another list is on the way and she (my sister) will forget about the other ones.
